so moderating and keeping a forum alive is child’s play, ey?

ANYBODY could do it better than george, right?

    2 months and not a single post …from anyone…

not a complete loss…maybe we all learned something

and some of the “patriotic” comments:

Nice to see that coke likes to sing an AMERICAN song in the terrorist’s language. Way to go coke. You can leave America.
    ? Tyler Wyckoff (@tylerwyckoff24) February 3, 2014

Still confused as to why they were singing about America in all those foreign languages in the Coke commercial. We speak English…
    ? Anna Langley (@annalangleyy) February 3, 2014

Dear Coke commercial…. DO NOT sing my Country’s song of Freedom in a different language. ????

rather than start a new thread thought i would comment here on the topic of the super bowl coke commercial that has conservative nutcases gnashing their teeth and pulling their hair out.. lol

i always thought the “english only” faction of the conservatives was limited to the fringe crazies…but nope, all it took was this coke commercial to demonstrate just how well the propaganda over the last few years has worked… taking advantage of the monolingual, not-so well read righties ignorance hammering a prejudiced, isolationist, superiority complexed message over and over until even reasonable folks have accepted it….

amazing…mr goebbels would be so proud

did i mention i REALLY REALLY miss the once proud and solid republican party??

is there anything new about republicans being forced to mispresent the facts? wrong on every single issue right down the list…of the three responses to the stu address, not ONE valid or relevant point…the logic being that if an obama policy has any merit this fact cannot come to light…if it becomes necessary to search high and low for fake “horrror” stories or to outright lie to make the president look bad, they say so be it… šŸ™‚

o ye of shallow brains, don’t you see this tactic is undermining your credibility?

    ACA is a glaring example…

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), the House Republican Conference chair, used her partyā€™s official response to the State of the Union to highlight a woman in her home state who, she claimed, was better off before the law.
ā€œNot long ago, I got a letter from Bette in Spokane, who had hoped the presidentā€™s health care law would save her money, but found out instead her premiums were going up nearly $700 a monthā€¦. No, we shouldnā€™t go back to the way things were, but this law is not working.ā€
Almost immediately, red flags went up among those who follow the health care debate closely. And for good reason: over the last several months, Republicans and their allies have put a spotlight on quite a few ā€œObamacare victims,ā€ but the stories invariably fell apart after modest scrutiny.

With this in mind, it was only natural to wonder about the circumstances surrounding ā€œBette in Spokane,ā€ who presumably represented the single best piece of anecdotal evidence McMorris Rodgers could find as part of her ACA indictment. Fortunately, we now have a better sense of the relevant details, which, like so many ā€œObamacare horror stories,ā€ donā€™t help the Republicansā€™ case at all. …facts are not the right’s friends…

rand paul’s response was another circus sideshow…on the question of employment equality for women, his only comment was that bill clinton was a sex predator and because hillary and bill were hard to tell apart, well she just wasn’t fit to be president… LOLOLOL

“republicans” highjacked byt the extremes..wrong again – wrong on every single issue, line by line

please let them keep talking…. btw did i mention i REALLY miss the OLD grand old party??

    rana

    that’s ok, dix

by now we have become accustomed to your 2-3 line non posts…looking back at them “all” the pattern is clear: nothing on the issues… no content, no relevance….just no

like you, i don’t understand why you even bother

    rana

watching the state of the union last night it came to me just how wrong the gop is on virtually every issue…line by line their fractured party opposes ANYTHING that makes any sense and you don’t even have to listen to their responses to the speech, all you have to do is look at the their faces…geeze old farts including the speaker … they could barely get up the gumption to stand up and applaud the wounded sgt standing next to mrs obama…they know they risk making the president look good and we couldn’t have THAT, could we…..

unbelievable right down the list WRONG on every single issue…

these pos, ted cruz and rand paul are their front runners?? ….holy fucking shittt…lawd heppus….they’re political puto parasites ppp – doing nothing but take advantage of how fractured the republican party is today…smoke and mirrors (lies) has convinced fully half of of the population, thereby obstructing (for now) the progress (eeeek that word!) being achieved, amazing what it hwas done to the gop

did you know that “moderate” is a dirty word now…yeah right along side words like “democracy, equality, healthcare, union, community, compromise….what planet are these extreme conservatives living on? is this strategy sustainable?

presidential candidates? these two freaks? yes because….henceforth any and all “moderate” (half a brain) conservative need not apply, man how i miss the REAL republican party

yeah man we are such hypocrites…we claim that all men (and women) posess certain rights, while your buddies above (it’s not a few snippets, dx..this is their universe) believe only certain ethnic, affluent groups of people are worthy of these rights…

there are very good people on both sides… but as per your own assertion, in this age of paranoia and prejudice, nobody seems to remember who they are…

caution: you might be a ringwing nutcase

    yes ad

most of the founding fathers owned slaves.. many of these opposed slavery, but only four of them NEVER owned slaves…even franklin – my favorito – owned two, and was yet the president of the abolitionists…contradictory? yeh but..member, they were only men

“When the messenger and the message are one and the same, then shooting the messenger is the same as shooting the message.”

yes dex let’s shoot some of them… i would start with sir rupert himself

ironic because their message is very clear – so is the messenger:

according to this fux news report (which you didn’t view), only american citizens have constitutional rights………………..wow…the IGNORANCE…what exactly does “inalienable” mean?

geeze…this flies in the face of the original intent of the founders so much it’s almost funny…almost

Where are you dex? Too busy spewing on another forum?

    gotta agree with you!

fox news is the messenger AND the message, i don’t blame you for wanting to shoot them..i do too

Not NEWS ...we make it up

yeah “heads up everybody!!! rene almost made me watch a daily show video” šŸ˜€

    dex? disappointed…

i was hoping for a comment from you on the content or message…. but instead i received a non-commital attack on the messenger…ok so you don’t like stewart let’s leave him out of it, you can view the original fox transmissions without his narration, yet the message is the same…

but bringing it all away from the media to a more down to earth level – man to man (poster to poster)

…what do YOU think? were the founders correct? …are all men created equal? do they all have constitutional rights in this country? even muslims?

mucho gusto and thanks dexter, very gentlemanly

so you see i am not george, but the next best or worst thing, a george advocate….ok, not really a “george advocate” but neither do i share your (all)’s obsession for blaming him for everything including the sun setting every day…a gorgeous sunset it was in guanajuato this evening, rainbow and all, uncharacteristically wet and chilly, christmas-sy, with a few streaks of sunlight piercing through

i’m not a newbie either, although i don’t get back to sonora very often any more, back in the 80’s i owned a citrus grove in alamos, (yes the one at the end of the airstrip) for about 5 years guaymas, cd obregon, kino bay, chinipas, el fuerte, etc were my stomping grounds

but enough about me …again, i don’t want to intrude – came here as the result of an invitation, from burro, for whom i have nothing but great respect, to talk politics…if we’re going to avoid political issues and just bash george day in and day out, well…this may not be the place for me…

no expectations at all, i was invited to participate here and because i enjoy political banter i did my part to keep the new political board active

so no donation.. well…yeah that’s what i thought, can’t understand why dex would try to mislead me…

anyway, thanks for the rott article, wild..fiasco yes….this too, was george’s fault? šŸ˜€

the fact is i AM interested in what happens in san carlos, although i have never lived there i have many friends that do..or did

the original purpose of this thread was to try to spark some life into the political side of the forum…it had been at least a week without any activity at all

i know nothing nor am i interested in the rottweiller fiasco whatever that is, or chad willis…either way it seems you are grateful for the opportunity to start a new forum, more power to you

…received an invitation to participate and i thought that here we could continue to sparr with paulr, jmoore, woody, als, burro…

btw dex above states that a donation will open the forum further, can you clarify, admin?

as far as politics goes, and from what i have gathered about george the person, yes dex i am a george gadsby “advocate” …i am also a liberal and an atheist that believes in facts and research…hard for me to advocate beliefs based on hocus pocus logic

so you DO favor “redistributing of their monies”, you just want to qualify and quantify who said monies should go to…the don’t haves that can’t get insured, right? you’re fiscally responsible

presidents lying?? come on everyone KNOWS it goes with the job….

it is an attribute – no, a prerequisite – for ALL usa presidents, what with all the secretive spy vs spy, undercover, underhanded weapons and other bs the country has had going since wwII? ..they HAD to be…

that’s why clinton and reagan were seen as “good” presidents, as opposed to inexperienced, lousy liars such as bush, carter and obama

if you’re against pentagon and defense spending waste, you are labelled unpatriotic… how did THIS ever come about in our country?? where the fuck did THIS shit come from? ike unpatriotic and unsupportive of our troops ???

we are and have been making a big mistake on this issue and it has and will affect the failure of our foreign policy strategy….in our 237 year history is there ANY country we have not invaded at some point…?

the age of might makes right is long past, all this excessive military might is a liability NOT an asset

you’d think all americans would be up in arms about this but nope..with all the talk about cutting spending especially fiscally conservative gop’ers should be all over this… our favorite and fattest sacred cow….untouchable

we’re not really serious about cutting spending until the shameful waste at the pentagon is audited and ended

don’t favor spending our tax money on overpriced, useless weaponry and hardware we don’t need and that makes ultra-wealthy arms producers wealthiER..year in and year out our largest budget expense, and the pentagon won’t allow audits….corporate welfare – is that the socialist redistribution you’re referring to?

….useless, uncontributory individuals? i resemble your remark šŸ™‚ lol, but inevitably, the question jumps out at us: useless? by WHOSE standards? who gets to be the judge? …his almighty holiness, money?

question: how would YOUR perfect society handle them? do you support medicare? social security? welfare? ..you make it sound as if ALL people in need are sub human derelicts..silly dex, they’re veterans, senior citizens, kids, handicapped, all KINDS of good people….”there, but for the grace of god go i” …or you…quick solution, just classify them as “useless” …gawd, maybe we should just start lining up the cattle cars…tattoo a number on their arms, get the “special” shower rooms and ovens ready?

this culture created the society we are in today…everything you see today is a reaction to something, didn’t just spring out of thin air ….and it took centuries, it’s not your or my fault but it is our problem and our kids’ problem

    for all the social paranoids:

the concept of universal healthcare is not based on entitlement but simply because it makes sense economically and from a public health point of view…

prison convicts, military personnel, and so many others receive FREE healthcare not because they DESERVE it but because the result of NOT doing so is not exactly desirable

most “civilized” countries have discovered this, except in america, the land of coporate capitalism and welfare…mainly because it threatens profits
