Could you research the requirements for home kitchens used to prepare food and bake bread that is being sold to the public. The reason I ask is a new venture was started in a filthy and substandard kitchen recently. Are there no health inspections required for such a venture? Thanks and I look forward to your reply. The department of health here absolutely requires permits and does inspections of bakery’s and restaurants as well. I will look for the link online. I even suspect that you can report a business via online resources. Which is often the best way to report what we call a denuncio in Spanish. I just momementcs ago reported some illegal fishing events in San Carlos via internet.

Will look for the info, thanks for the question

Anybody who sells food or drinks to the public, wherever elaborated at home or in a restaurant, needs a “sanitary license” and follow several hygiene requirements.

You can make a “denuncia” on the phone to the following free number:
    COFEPRIS 01 800 033 5050
    website: http://www.cofepris.gob.mx

If you want to make and online “denuncia”, just click in this link:
    http://189.254.115.250/DenunciaExterna/

The requirements are on this website.
    http://www.salud.gob.mx/unidades/cdi/nom/compi/rcsps.html

Thanks for your question, and I hope this information is helpful.

Also the business should have its current permit on the premisses if they are actually in compliance.
