Independent Journalism & Documentary
In 2008 a french film crew from Thallasa TV3, produced a short documentary about my documentary (El Oro de Cortes). Now in 2013 we seek to inform those who love our oceans, especially the Sea of Cortes considered to be The Worlds Aquairum, about the plight of La Vaquita, (Phocoena sinus), a small porpoise that lives just south of where the Colorado River flows into the northern Gulf of California. Many people have never heard of La Vaquita but over the coming months that may change. The reason being that this small porpoise is extremely close to extinction.
That makes La Vaquita the most endangered marine mammal in the whole world. The Mexican government in conjunction with several non governmental organizations such as The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) have recently announced that they are going to do all that they can to save La Vaquita from oblivion. I would like to find out if that is true. That is why I have begun this kickstarter campaign. I will have to spend weeks in the small town of San Felipe interviewing the players that will ultimately decide the fate of La Vaquita. It will then take a month or more to edit a short documentary as well as produce a written article of around 6000 words on this.
So your pledge will get you not only a beautiful T-shirt, unlike any other vaquita shirt you have seen, custom designed by my wife and cohort Maria Ines but a chance to sponsor this independent media project. Thanks for considering our campaign!!
How does one buy the t shirt?
Thanks
Will be going live with this in a few hours, a friend had a medical emergency and I had to run away from the computer for a few hours but I will sent this out in the news letter and there will be a link above that will direct everyone to the Indiegogo site,
