Well the 30th of December was not such a great night for Guaymas murder stats. In what one radio program host and one web site (Monitorguaymas) is calling,” Una histórica noche de muerte” (A historic night of death) three people were murdered within three hours with two people injured. A 25 year old man named Sergio Manuel Rivera Ortiz from the Colonia Antena in Guaymas was shot multiple times in the head just steps away from a police substation.
At almost the same time a Ernesto Alfonso Duran while inside the Tufesa bus terminal was either pistol whipped and or shot, reports are still unclear. He was treated for his wounds and it has been reported that he was transported to Obregon after the incident and it has been reported in el vigia that a description of Duran may have matched that of the person who killed Sergio Manuel Rivera Ortiz. Duran is now in police custody as the investigation proceeds.
Arnaldo Armante 43 years of age was found out side his house in Potam with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
And to top it all off Ricardo Garcia Rojas from the Colonia Central in Guaymas was shot at the TAP bus terminal, which is about 75 feet from the Tufesa bus terminal. A woman was injured in that shooting and is listed in delicate condition in a Guaymas hospital. It was reported that at least 9 shots were fired at the TAP terminal.
