I had a long conversation today with Ricardo Lopez from the popular Sonoran news web site El Diario del Yaqui. I asked Ricardo if he could look into what was going on with bail in relation to the indictment of Carmen Ordaz. There were rumors on Bart’s forum that the bail was set at 5 million pesos but I have been unable to confirm that until now. Ricardo spoke to some of his attorney contacts in Guaymas for me and has been told that bail was indeed set at 5 million pesos. It cost an extra 2,000 pesos to file the paper work and that was the amount paid by Carmen Ordaz, 5,002,000.00 pesos. It was also mentioned that the Ordaz legal team tried to pay with a piece of real estate but after investigation it was determined that the real estate in question was not legally owned by Ordaz. I have also been informed that if someone wishes to put up a piece of real estate for bail the property must be worth three times the amount of bail.
Ricardo will publish all of this information and more tomorrow on line at El Diario and on his televised and internet streamed news program Radio Visa. I will publish the link to his story when I get it. He also commented that there were more indictments coming down against Ordaz. I will also mention that Radio Visa from 6 to 7 p.m. broadcasts a nightly news program that can be seen on T.V. and on line at the link above.
It was important to establish how much bail was paid since Richard Baca from Sunshine Realty, who is married to the sister of Carmen Ordaz, has publicly stated, at the 5th post on this thread from Bart’s forum, that Carmen was released from Jail and did not have to spend “not one single peso” to be released. So it would appear that Mr. Baca was given false information from the Ordaz legal team or he just figured no one would call up the court house and actually check and ask what was bail. I must give a special thanks to Ricardo Lopez. He has been aggressively reporting cases in Guaymas that have not have been reported by other news outlets. He is not easily intimidated either. Catalina Ordaz may have made a tactical error when she called Ricardo up and threatened him at their studio in Guaymas. Those threats only made him want to be more aggressive in his reporting of this story.

This is not a court of law and this is not hearsay. I asked Ricardo to please look into bail since your good buddy Baca is spewing all over a forum that you don’t even post in that his Sister in law got out of Jail free. Which I do not believe in any way shape or form and thus I called my contacts in Guaymas and asked them to look into it and guess what. They did. Will this all be hearsay when it is printed in Sonoran media outlets?

I have had enough of George. I am just gonna delete his comments from here on in as I just did. If he wants to insult me on his forum he can do that all he likes over at Viva but not here. The reality is I started the blog because I was not allowed to post freely over there on the topics that I feel are important to San Carlos. He just can not seem to leave us alone though. It is funny how he goes after me but yet gives a free pass to the people who are actually brought up on charges. He is a strange man for sure.

I have often wondered what connection George has with the Ordaz Clan. He defends them as if they were Family.
Alex from the Viva board is terrified of the Ordaz’s, I don’t think they paid him anything but I know they sent a person claiming to be a lawyer over to his house once and told him he better stop allowing posts from me on his forum if he knew what was good for him.

Back in the dark days, when the Ordaz Cartel controlled Viva, I received several profound and pointed legal and physical threats from their henchmen by email.
When I am in Mexico, I am full emersion Mexican. I try to associate only with Mexicans and not associate with Gringos at all. Well, about 20 some odd years ago, when I decided to move to San Carlos, one of the first things that was brought to my attention by the Local folks was to Beware of Catalina Ordaz. At that time, they pointed out a couple of places she was trying to steal. One of them was that small condo place just to the East of the Fiesta Hotel (that they now control) where the Bus Stop is. Oh My, how the Cartel has grown.
A wonderful film out on Gary Webb and his great reporting on the Cocaine for guns to the contras scandal called Kill The Messenger, it reminds me much of someone. When you don’t like what is in print then it is best to try to discredit the one printing it.

I don’t like it or dislike it. I have no personal stake in the outcome with the Ordaz family. What I disapprove of is the slipshod reporting when presenting hearsay and rumor as fact. No back up.. No independent verification. No documents. Just rumor and innuendo based on one newspaper reporters say so.
You clearly have no stake in Can Carlos then. A man who does not care if there are criminals in town that have committed fraud on countless occasions over decades and helped consolidate the reputation of San Carlos as a place were if you should do business be ready to get screwed.
