The community of La Manga met with state officials from CEDES today. What was mostly on the minds of residents of this small fishing community, located just 5 miles north of San Carlos, was electricity. So the state is now going to fund a study to see what the real power needs of the community are and how best to bring electricity to the community. CEDES is all about solar energy so they would prefer to see the community of La Manga stay off the CFE grid permanently. Whether that be in the form of solar panels on individual houses or a centralized solar array. Trash collection was also a major topic since even la manga is now feeling the recent cut backs in trash pick up now implemented by the city of Guaymas. Another topic was water or the lack there of.

Junes edition of the San Carlos Wireless will have an in depth report on the history of this small fishing community so stay tuned for that.
