Boat Parade Pic

The Parade of Lights for Christmas Eve is coming up and this year is set to be a big won with several restaurants participating and offering prizes for the best lighted boat. Here are the details from Larry and Pat Adams of the Yacht Club and I have included a few of the videos from the parades past, 2011 and 2013!

Greetings Boat Owner,

The San Carlos Yacht club is excited to once again, host the annual Christmas Eve Boat Parade of Lights.  This year we are hoping to have an increase in participating boats.  We would be pleased and honored to have you participate with us  in this popular and magical event.  This is a really fun experience and is not difficult.  It just takes some creative thinking and a sense of adventure and Christmas spirit.  We have an excellent and experienced parade leader, Steve Cammack, captain of the Hattie Anne,  who safely navigates the parade route.

Prizes will be awarded by participating  restaurants!  Winners will be announced at the wrap up party at the Yacht Club after the parade.

Participating Restaurants:

El Mar            El Yaqui            Vista Mar  (Toros)

La Palapa      Charlys Rock

Charly’s Rock has offered an exciting, scenic plane cruise over the San Carlos area culminating in a romantic sunset dinner for 2 at Charly’s Rock!  La Palapa has generously donated a 3000 peso first place prize, 1500 peso second prize, and dinner for 2 for third prize.  Dinners have been pledged, and the prizes are continuing to develop.

We have a new category, Santa’s elves, open to kyaks and dingys, who will not follow the parade, but greet the parade in all their splendor at various points.

For Marina Real boat owners, Marina San Carlos has generously offered to provide a limited number of complimentary slips that you can take your boat to in the morning before the parade and your boat can stay until the next morning.  You will have to PRE REGISTER at the marina office.

We are looking for boats big and small.  (including kayaks and dingies, which we call Santa’s Elves. This group will have a different  format.).   We invite you and a guest to join us for an informational evening at the Yacht Club  from 4pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, November 25th to hear about the parade, ask questions, meet other boat owners and enjoy complimentary hamburgers.  A no host bar will be available.  Registrations will also be taken that night and will be ongoing until a week before the parade.

Hope to see you there!
